So yeah, *of course* I installed the Mojave beta. As per the ticket Jean-Marc noted, bold is still not displaying (in both text and math mode) but after a couple hours of use I've encountered no other problems. In particular, previewing with Skim (forward and reverse search, notably) appears to be seamless as ever. (The missing bold is only inside LyX; formatted fonts appear as they should in the PDF.)
