After reading a helpful suggestion from a member of this list, I have
managed to compile LyX successfully (or so I think) on Darwin/MacOSX.
The only problem, however, is that whenever I try to launch the program from
xterm (or anywhere else, for that matter), I get the following error:
X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for
operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 91 (X_QueryColors)
Value in failed request: 0x22
Serial number of failed request: 24
Current serial number in output stream: 24
I am using Tenon's Xtools (a slightly modified version of XFree86) that runs
in rootless mode in OSX. I emailed to Tenon about this issue and they
thought it was a font related issue -- either a missing font or misnamed
font.
Any insights on this?
