Table rules

Howdy!

I want to 2x2 table look like this:

-----
|1|2| <- no bottom rule below cell "1"
   ---
|3|4|
-----

But if I go to cell "1" and turn of the bottom rule then the rule for 
the whole row disappears. Am I doing something wrong or is it simply 
not possible to change only one cell's settings?
