´ You should able to insert _directly_ the ø or Ø without using a command sequence. And using lualatex instead of pdflatex makes things easier, too. Attached an example for lualatex with using Libertinus OpenType: the lyx file, screenshot from LyX editor and from the pdf. Herbert
