I have on the Mac exported my large "handbook", KomaScript Report with 25 child documents, a large common include.tex and a Makefile of 550 lines from the GUI and it did not throw an error. I have then exported it via pandoc to epub and the Kindle Previewer 3 reads the EPUB without throwing an error. The document is basically formatted to display well on screen and therefor the kindle filed does not look that well, but for someone writing a book proper, ie formatting it accordingly this should work.
