I am:
(1) Using a Mac computer running operating system Tahoe 26.0.1.
(2) Running LyX version 2.4.4.
Attached is a folder named “Bib attempt.” It contains these 5 files:
Bib_attempt.lyx
Bib_attempt.lyx~
references_881.bib
bibliography-ECON881.pdf
bibliography-ECON881.lyx
The file “bibliography-ECON881.lyx” runs perfectly, compiles without
error, and produces the correct PDF output with a list of all the
References.
However, the file “Bib_attempt.lyx” does NOT compile correctly and the
PDF output does not show the list of References that we want.
it has no \cite{..} and so no bibliography! In the bibmenu use "show
_all_ bibentries" instead of
"show cited entries". Or use at least one \cite{...} in your text.

This is a just an example of the problem. Generally “___.bib” files
do not produce the correct PDF output listing References properly.
