Nope. Mint uses the Ubuntu repos, and I'm pretty sure that's the
latest version in the Ubuntu (Canonical) repos.
Current version in Ubuntu 25.10 is LyX 2.4.4. The current LTS release
Ubuntu 24.04 has LyX 2.4.0~RC3 indeed, but you can update to 2.4.3
using this instructions:
https://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/LyXOnUbuntu Point 1.3 Debian binaries
This should work on an Ubuntu derivative such as Mint, too.

Lately I've been installing from source, but I just tried the Debian
binaries and can confirm that they work on Mint.
