I also have exactly the same problem on an intel mac (iMac 2020). It
generates the crash report if any window is open, but if all windows are
closed there is not crash report on exiting Lyx (2.5.0).
I also have Lyx installed on Ubuntu, and something similar appears to
happen when I close Lyx. There is no crash report, but the system seems
to hang for about 5-10 seconds, as if it is cleaning something up.
