I've converted a bunch of EPUB files i have into RTF in hope to import
them into LyX in a way that preserves the spacing, newlines, and
paragraphs of the original EPUB file.
From my understanding RTF file do all of this but i've found out I cant
just import those (it's not listed as one of theoptions when importing).
So I was hoping someone here might have an insight into this matter.

Hello,
For all the questions related to file format conversion, I would advise
to install pandoc. I see though that LyX will not use it automatically
for RTF documents, but relies on GNU unrtf instead.
You may want however to convert your file by hand using either program,
in order to see which one is the best.
You can also try EPUB->LaTeX with pandoc.
