Greetings to LyX users and developers, I would like to contribute to the internationalisation of LyX, by organising the provision of Luganda language (lug)capability. I note that there appears to be no Luganda team yet. Luganda is a main language of Uganda. ISO 639 has the language listed as 'Ganda', with a three letter code 'lug' but no two letter code as yet. We are working on that. I am a member of the Akedeme ya Luganda, a voluntary organisation which is working on making all modern knowledge easily available to ordinary Ugandans. I have just used LyX - on a Linux box - to write a book (about aviation). I think the package is top notch, and would like the Akademe to adopt it as the standard publications tool, but to do that it needs to 'talk the language'. I have started by looking at the message (gettext) system and the captions for the class 'book'. The work is still at a very early stage. Regards, Kizito
