Including Latex style file

I have a style file that follows my university's standard layout, and can't figure out how to include include it in Lyx.  I found reference to a style file in the LyX and the LaTeX preamble section of the User's Guide but I couldn't make out where to install the file.   Kent Kostuk [EMAIL PROTECTED]
