Question about tables

Hi,

I have a float table in my document, 5 columns, 6 rows. When I type the text in
my table, in DVI output, the table goes out of the page's text margins. I tried
to use protected carriage returns in the table fields to make the text in two
lines but that doesn't work in table environment. Please guide me to solve this
problem (Lyx 1.1.6 Fix 3).
