Agreed, this is truly one of the most useful aids in a text editor (haven't never had that in a word processor like LyX). I haven't learned Emacs since I thought it wouldn't have folding... recently I heard it does (as an external package) and that's the whole reason I'm going to learn it, even if so complex, just to have this single feature.
