have a look into your installed tex-system for a subdir custom-bib, copy the file makebst.tex in any place and run it with latex. you are able to build your own bst-file. it's easy to use and one of the question is the one for the position of the date. if you don't have custom-bib on your system, get it from ftp://ftp.dante.de Herbert -- http://www.educat.hu-berlin.de/~voss/lyx/
