There are some examples of LyX doing stuff that standard LaTeX doesnot. (The LyXlist, say). A possibility to implement something in that direction would be to let C-Enter (or maybe better just Enter) in a "normal" column insert a new line and place the cursor in the right column in this line. If also care was taken, to extend a possibly existing frame (i.e. if there is a bottom margin at the actual line, remove this and let the new inserted line have one), the result of pressing Enter would become pretty much like "a line break in a normal column!". I would this prefer much compared to the present "right-click, click on the table tab, click on insert-line, adjust margins" procedure. GM -- [EMAIL PROTECTED]
