in order to get the basis of a glossary i used indexing the terms to be
commented on.

I could now either use the .idx file and through out the
\indexentry{ultradian rhythm}{5}
\indexentry{circadian rhythm}{5}
\indexentry{tidal rhythm}{5}
\indexentry{monthly rhythm}{5}
\indexentry{fortnight rhythm}{5}
\indexentry{annual rhythm}{5}
\indexentry{oscillation}{6}
\indexentry{simulation}{6}
\indexentry{Chronobiology}{6}
\indexentry{continuous light}{7}
\indexentry{grunion fish}{8}
superfluous stuff with find/replace or better a small program which does it
and in addition orders it according to the alphabet
(question: does somebody have such a program/shell command already?)

or export the file and somehow get the index which is now ordered (e.g. as
.ps or .pdf) into a file. But I cant cut and paste these files, can I?

Has anybody a proposal or experience how to do that?

Thanks again for all the help I am getting by this list
Wolfgang
