Does anybody have an explanation, why \S (section sign) is so
exceedingly ugly and obviously not-fitting among other glyphs,
when \usepackage{ae,aecompl} is used?

For an example try
pdftex testfont
Name of the font:aer10
\bigtest\end

Thanks for any hint (being a lawyer, \S is rather important thing
to me).
