Another way is to write a template: Take a document, delete all specific
stuff and keep the things you like to have at start of a new document, set
the fonts to pslatex and save to ~/.lyx/templates/a_nice_name.lyx. 1)

with the right settings (Edit->Settings->Directories), the new template will
be on offer if you start a document with New_from_Template. 2)
