I just posted yesterday similar problem on devel list. When I
manually (via script) enter \i \={i} in to my lyx file (I'm not able to
do it via Compose key!) to get dotless i-macron, and save the file, LyX
changes it into \i \={\i}, which in tex files results in \={\i} and
that's wrong.

I accidentally noticed this behaviour when I saw then Xindy is wrongly
sorting my idnex entries and then I inspected its log files where I saw
that regex is actually comparing \={\i} instead of \={i}.

I'm running 1.1.6.fix4.

Sincerely,
Sasa
