I am experimenting with using different .bst styles, and I would like to know what I have to do to use these styles.
For example, if I want to use the chicago.bst syle, what lines should I include in my original document to use it? If I were to modify a .bst style, what lines would I need in my document then? Is a .bst style part of a package, or can it be used independently? I have been searching for about 3 hours for info on .bst sty, and haven't found anything. I understand there are some good style files out there, but the ones I have come across (mla, chicago) come with no documentation. Kopka and Daly's book on LaTeX is also inadequate in explaining what you need to do for new .bst styles.
