greek letter disapper in subscript

hi,
When I type in equation in math mode using lyx, and then use subscript and 
try to put greek letter in the subscript, the greek letter dissaper / does 
not show. It shows fine when I view it as DVI or PDF/PS. It just does not 
show in the editor mode. Is this a bug?

I am using lyx-1.1.6fix3-1, installed using rpm.
