(And if I remember right, the newest gnumeric versions did drop the latex-export at all...) If there are no special characters in the table, exporting as csv (comma (or mostly TAB) separated values) and import into LyX via the csv2lyx script (from the contributed stuff section of the LyX home site) is a quite straigtforward way.
