Hello!

I have just started using LyX/LaTeX as bascially a complete replacement for my
old word processing needs. However, there is something that I cannot seem to
figure out.

I would really like to be able to write my resume/CV in LyX, as it is
wonderfully portable and looks great when printed. I am using the newest
version of LyX (1.1.6fix4) and browsing through the directories in
/usr/share/lyx, I see that there is the 'cv.cls' file and a 'cv.layout' file,
leading me to believe that support for using the CV class is builtin. There
is even a cv.lyx example file!

However, when I try to open the example file, I get a couple errors, which
have already been documented on this mailing list (see the post in the
archive here:
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg16659.html) - I get
the same errors.

So, I tried everything I could think of to allow LyX to find the cv.cls file
(mind you, it is _already in_ the correct directories!), and I read a bunch
of posts to this list trying to fix my problem, but no matter what I do, LyX
can NOT find the CV class!

Can anyone tell me how I would go about coercing LyX to find this (and maybe
others, later if I decide to download files from CTAN) class?

Thanks a bunch!
Ryan Joseph
