Hi

I'm getting a LaTeX warning showing up as an error box in LyX. The problem
is that the error is not important. But when I press Ctrl-T to view the
postscript, LyX just keeps complaining about the error. But if I got the
LyX's temp folder, the .dvi is there, and if I run dvips manually, then
gv, it all looks fine.

How do I get Ctrl-T to ignore a LaTeX error?

I read the docs and did a google search. The docs at one point say
helpful things like "just ignore this error." But it doesn't tell you
*how* to ignore errors.

I'm using LyX 1.1.6fix4.

This is an excerpt from the LaTeX logfile:

........

)) (/usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/babel/english.sty

! Package babel Error: You have used an old interface to call babel
(babel) You may expect compatibility problems wit other
packages
.

See the babel package documentation for explanation.
Type H <return> for immediate help.

l.54 \bblstyerror

You could proceed but don't complain if you run into errors

I think the problem is something to do with wrapping a LaTeX 2.09 style
inside a LaTeX2e class file (I am just blindly following the suggetsions
for doing so from the LyX customisations guide). I don't know LaTeX well
enough to rewrite the .sty file as a 2e .cls file.

Thanks for LyX!

Cheers,
Matthew.
