I installed lyx 1.2.0 yesterday on my laptop and ran into the same
problem (I also got a message that it needs xforms) and had a hard time
solving it. However I managed to find an rpm that contained the
libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3 file. Unfortunately I'm not sure where I got it
from.:-( Here is a possible link

http://www.megaloman.com/~hany/RPM/doors2.4/jr/libstdc++-2.95.3-0.200003
23.i386.html

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Daniel
