That's where I went wrong. I'm working in a GUI so I expect there to be a
button for everything I'm allowed to do. I kept clicking on the 'close'
button after entering a value because there is no 'OK', 'apply' or other
button. Didn't occur to me to just press enter. Guess that's why I don't
like GUIs.
