Hello everybody,

I have read all the Lyx manuals but I could not understand one thing.

I would like to add a new "environment" to the dropdown style list (the one
on the upper left, where you click with the mouse).

The help files speak about adding "document classes", or "layouts". THey
don't seem to cover what I need... or are they?

To be precise, I want to define a new latex environment that is like a
quotation but inside a text box. Or even better, I use the framed
package, which defines the framed environment.
So I added the
   \usepackage{framed}
to the preamble, with the appropriate lyx menu option.

But now I want to apply the framed environment to my text, not with an ERT
(because it is boring to write \begin{framed} and \end{framed} each
time), but with the mouse, just like I apply (say) a "quote" environment.

As for the appearance inside lyx, it is ok if it appears as a quote inside lyx.

Could you please tell how to do that?

Must I create a new document class? I hope not... it seems
difficult.

Thanks a lot!
