I see the point.

Unfortunately I am a bit short of time right now (+ a deadline for an
article), and from what I read about upgrading to 1.2.0, I fear the need of
quite some effort to fix everything (as I have a rather full ~/.lyx directory).

OTOH, I was reported that
   1. the problem mentioned appeares also in 1.1.6 :-)
   2. other users had no problems under 1.2.0 (but maybe just using seminar
with lots of ERT, not with my layout)
   3. There should be not much difference between the layout files.

So, maybe some kind fellow user with a running 1.2.0 could go to the
contributed-stuff section of ftp.lyx.org and download and try seminar.tgz.

There remains the problem with subsequent paragraphs of same style being put
into just one environment (Bug No 341 in the Bugzilla). Once this one is
solved, seminar.layout could be cleaned up (no more need for the
end-of-slide dummy style) and, if it passes the tests, included in the
distribution.
