Hi,

how do you write accented characters? I've read section 6.5 of the users
manual, I've set encoding to Latin-1, default language to Dutch, the
first keyboard map to american-2 and left the other keyboard map empty.
I suppose that was the preparation I should have done, now, how do I
actually write accented characters? The users manual gives the table,
but I do not see how to use it.
It might be a basic linux thing, but I've been using MS-Dos untill
fifteen months ago and never actually managed to write non-english
characters in linux, except with WordPerfect.

In case you need to know, I run LyX 1.2.0 under SuSE 7.2, which is based
on linux kernel 2.4.4 and glibc 2.2.2. I have installed the complete
binaries of teTeX 1.0.5. If you need to know more, please feel free to ask.

Thanks in advance,
Vinay
