Hello all,

I've switch from 1.2.0 to 1.2.1 recently, and well, back to 1.2.0 for
the following reason:

I'm writing a quite big document, my PhD thesis, and have quite a lot of
equations in it. I do not know what is authorised by LaTeX (I don't know
LaTeX -- that why I use LyX). Untill yesterday, I used spaces,
underscores and dashes in my figure(floats), sections or equation
labels. Everything was working fine.
But yersterday, all the spaces present in my equation labels vanished,
thus breaking all the referencing of the thesis.
Besides, the equation labels that had underscore were seriously damaged
-- together with their corresponding equation. Example, with the [] to
denote the equation label
x=bogus+1, [value of R_i and alpha_i]
was transformed in
x=bogus+1iandalpha_i, [value of R_{]
or something close.

The figures labels have not been touched. They still work, with spaces
and underscores.

So I switched back to 1.2.0 and renamed and/or corrected all of my
equations, with underscores instead of spaces and redone all my thesis
referebnce towards this new labels (that quite a tedious work).

Hence come my bunch of questions:
-Is this normal or is it a bug?
-Are spaces, dashes, underscores forbidden in equation labels?
and if so:
   -what can I use to separate my words?
Ineedreadableandclearequationlabels :)
   -shouldn't it be stated in the label dialog window?
   -shouldn't lyx be able to handle such characters, and only
replace/suppress them when exporting, if it is a LaTeX issue?

Thanks in advance,

Olivier.
