I've just moved one of our sparc-solaris-8 users from OpenWindows to
CDE. LyX fails to share the color map on the 24-bit display, and the
only cure I've found is to run `lyx -visual truecolor'. But when lyx
is started with -visual truecolor, it crashes on loading a file.
Here is the output of `-dbg 3':

I'd very much appreciate suggestions of how I can get LyX to run on
this machine without -visual truecolor, or how I can otherwise work
around the failure to share colors on the 24-bit display. Running
-depth 8 doesn't work.
Thanks,
