Hi,
thanks 'Press Enter' was the solution. But I have one additional question.
Now inserting pictures works and the picture is show correct in the pdf/dvi
output, but in lyx it shows an error message ("error converting ro loadable
format") instead of the picture.
I have tried png and ps files.

Yes, this is called Graphics as of 1.2.0

Take care to insert the figure *above* the caption ("Figure #:"), i.e. press
Enter before inserting the figure.
