Some lyx users may find this useful. Having got frustrated with the bugs in lyx 1.2.0 and the inability to edit lyx 1.2 files on a computer that only has lyx 1.1 (and can't be upgraded), I have written a short program that converts LyX 1.2 documents to LyX 1.1
You can get a linux executable (redhat 7.2) here: http://www.spme.monash.edu.au/~stevenh/Public/lyx2lyx/lyx2lyx and the c/c++ source code here: http://www.spme.monash.edu.au/~stevenh/Public/lyx2lyx/lyx2lyx-0.0.2.cpp It works for my documents, and can handle notes, footnotes, ERT, inline and displayed math, figure floats, table floats (normal and wide), eps figures (including resizing and subcaptions) and tables. If the document has anything else in it, like a margin note for eg., it might not convert properly. Tables in the converted document have all their borders set, regardless of what the formatting was in the original. Some of the figure resizing directives (like "scale") in lyx 1.2 do not have an analogue in lyx 1.1, in which case the figure will not be resized. If anyone finds this useful, please let me know. cheers, Steve -- Steven Homolya School of Physics and Materials Engineering Monash University VIC 3800 Australia Tel: INT +61 3 9905 3694 Fax: INT +61 3 9905 3637
