Hi all!

I'm a new lyx user, also new to lyx-users mailing list.
I tried my first lyx documents just now.

I read the Tutorial, it told me to create a new (and first) lyx documents.
Then, use latex to create dvi files.

I created it, and when I run latex:
--------------------------------------------
[franklin@franklin lyx]$ latex newfile1.lyx
This is TeX, Version 3.14159 (Web2C 7.3.1)
(newfile1.lyx

A lot of other error messages followed.

I saw the newfile1.lyx, the lyx inserted many lines into the file:

This is my first lyx documents.

-----------------------------------------------------------
It seemed that latex cannot understand what lyx meant.

My latex is : tetex-latex-1.0.7-60mdk
running on Mandrake 9.0

I cannot find any guide for this situation in Tutorial, FAQ, ... or any other
documents.
Could anyone please give me a hint about how to use lyx with latex?

Thanks a lot!

Franklin
