These features are overkill for a word processor, but they're very valuable
in a dedicated outline processor like VimOutliner (we're planning on
incorporating many of those features). An outline processor can be used as an
aid to thinking, not only contributing to convergent thinking, but also
divergent thinking (brainstorming).

My best description of an outline is that it's a planning tool for those too
busy not to get it right the first time.

My plan for future books is to create the book's outline in VimOutliner, a
dedicated outline processor. Then I'll use my script to turn it into LyX
headings. Then, if LyX has an outline view like MS Word or like Klyx (flawed
as it is), I can continue to manipulate my book as an outline, but without
the computer assisted thought features.
