The best solution may be to link statically against xforms, but I do not know how to do that on solaris. Something you could do is test the patches against xforms 1.0 proposed by Angus leeming here: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=lyx-devel&m=103971974818266&w=2 There are two patches, one small and one big, both aiming to fix the compose key processing problems seen by people on solaris.
