Hi,
I did not use lyx for some time and just got version 1.2.2 installed
to work on a quite large german report.
I have some trouble to get started and maybe somebody can help
me out:

1. extra keyboard mapping
I used to load a very simple extra german.kmap file:

\kmod \" umlaut aAuUoO # umlaut is on \"
\kxmod umlaut s � # umlaut s is sz
----------------------------------------------------
It just allows me to type "+u to get the german �.
The problem is, that I just can not activate the german.kmap
mapping. I installed the file in ~/.lyx/kbd and registered
the file in the preference dialog for as first and
sedonc keyboard map file. But How to activate the kmap ?
M-k+1 or M-k+1 does not work.
Is there any other way to get the same result ("+u = �)

2. german spell checking
Lyx now support various spellchecking programmes.
(ispell/aspell/pspell)
What are the differences?
Can I spellcheck the text while typing?
Is there a spellcheck for the "new german spelling"
What is the "best" spellchecker/programm for "technical/IT" german ?
