(after renaming ~/.lyx and using "xhost +localhost" to get rid of the " Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: XDM authorization key matches an existing client! Error: Couldn't find per display information GS [18485] error 256 E:1 1 S:0 0 " - error (which I didn't get on my suse7.3 installation, really funny because on some figures it apeared and on some not).
