Lyx 1.2.3 rmp for suse linux 8.0?!

Dear LyX Users,

Sorry for this probably simple question but since I'm a linux newby it's not so trivial for me. My question concerns the following:
How can I install LyX 1.2.3 on a SuSE linux 8.0 system from a tar.gz package. Or maybe easier, is there a rpm package for this version of linux? I try to install a few different rpm's (for SuSE linux 7.2) but I ended up with a broken LyX and got error messages that are dependencies on packages I don't have. Is it sufficient to install just LyX 1.2.3 or do you need to install extra packages?

Any help is greatly appreciated (if you have the rpm, it can be send to this e-mail address without any problem)
