Put
  \bibpunct{(}{)}{;}{a}{,}{,}
in the preamble.
You can read the natbib documentation by typing
  texdoc natbib
in your shell.

It would be useful if you write it as part of the LyX documentation
(section 3.1 of Extended.lyx).
