Great news. I need to upgrade the system real soon now [tm] but I only have modem connection so d/ling images is not an option. I also wish there were days with 30-40 hours. At least once a week. Anyway you seem to know the required version, so perhaps you also know it the other way around: how old a version of lyx can I compile with my compiler (which version), and if that version cooperates with pdf(la)tex (my version of lyx is so old it does not - I need to finish something so I am looking for an easy way). tia, Peter PS: This list is great. Real quick help, no flames, no 'upgrade' pressure group. Thanks to all who responded.
