Hello, I just joined the list and have been using Lyx (1.2.0) for only several weeks now, so a lot of things are still new to me. My current problem concerns cross-referencing; as I understand it, Lyx enables cross- references only to numbered items, using the section/figure/page number as the reference. I would like to create a cross-reference containing text that would be updated automatically - is this possible? More specifically, I'd like to cross-reference separate documents to each other by title.
For example, I have one document with the title "User's Manual" and another document containing the text "for more information, see the User's Manual". If I change the name of the first doc to "User's Guide", I'd like the cross- ref in the second doc to update automatically to "for more information, see the User's Guide" without having make the change manually. Is there any way to do this, any kind of updatable text field or such? I have absolutely no knowledge of Latex (and not really enough time to start learning it now, fascinating though it may be). Thanks, Sarianna
