As an extension to this, how is it possible to make floats automatically centred?
I believe that takes a coding change.
Floats are created with a caption inside. You can insert more lines,
they become "standard" by default. The fact that they're inside a float
doesn't matter at all. (I.e. you can have a flaoting paragraph or two of text if you want to, nobody says a figure must contain graphichs.)
