No, Description is not what I've been looking for (it would require me to
do the theorem numbering by hand). Could you please give me some hints how
I can alter the theorem environment (or a local copy of it in
~/.lyx/layouts) so that \hangindent and \hangafter act on it automatically?

Or has anyone else already solved the problem before?
