Thanks for the lightning fast reply . . . . . . but ;-) Please re-read my post. I have used the "book" class quite a bit myself. It is great for technical books, but it is totally inappropriate for a novel in my estimation. I tried using it, but I spent a lot of time fudging it around just to get mediocre results. Without a more appropriate class I feel I'd be better off using a word processor. -Peter
