  use the stylefile Letter.ist and run manualy:

The link to the file Letter.ist is broken!! Even ctan.org doesn't contain a link to 
this virtual file!! I tried to search my system for 
any other .ist file and did it like this:

My file just contain the sentence "This is a test" with "This" and "is" as 
text entries. I don't know why I got the above errors but it works! The 
problem is the comma that separates the index entry from the page number has 
disappeared which render the index table somewhat ugly. I mean in the index 
written

This1 instead of This, 1
Will you please help me resolve it?
