Hello,
Hoping someone can help with this. The scientific
journal Nature has its own peculiar citation style for
submissions. Being a latex novice, I am trying to make
this work with lyx, but without a lot of luck.

To make a citation number superscript the archive
suggests putting in the preamble

\usepackage{overcite.sty}

This makes things superscript, but the numbering
doesn't happen (i.e. all reference superscripts are a
question mark in the dvi). How is this fixed? It's not
a problem when the references are not superscripted.

Second, for numerous references, nature separates the
references by commas if there are two (e.g. 5,6) but,
if more, with a dash (e.g. 5-7).

I am using the article (AMS, unnumbered) class.
TIA

Tim
