multi-language documents

I'd like to be able to have a document that is mostly in English but 
that has quotations in french and have the spell checker check both 
languages correctly.  The LyX users guide suggests this should be 
possible with pspell.

Is it possible with aspell?  I ask because I'm on MacOS X and pspell is 
not a package available via fink.  When I searched the web for pspell, 
the aspell.net site comes up.

Any help getting this set up is greatly appreciated.
