I tried all of the suggestions given so far for getting math symbols to
display properly (the two font packages, and a few other things), but none
of them have made a difference, and I'm still getting the same error from
xset:
Adding /usr/share/lyx/xfonts/ to the font path.
xset: bad font path element (#64), possible causes are:
Directory does not exist or has wrong permissions
Directory missing fonts.dir
Incorrect font server address or syntax
Unable to add font path.
One thing that does make a difference, though, is if I enable Xft in Qt.
Then the symbols display correctly, but the xset error still appears. This
isn't ideal, since I prefer not to use the antialiased fonts.
Any ideas?
