Curious.. how did you manage to get the tilde using the keyboard to show up above the character you wanted the tilde on? I tried but the closest I could get was to use superscript but then it is slightly shifted to the right... > Can you say what caused this? Is it fonts? Maybe I should install > TeTex 2? tilde in latex is the command \tilde which can be obtained using \tilde in ERT within LyX, or by using the Math panel or a shortcut - M-m-Shift-& .. so I'm guessing that latex simply ignored the regular ~ .. nirmal
